ICE6 enables network
800G
Delivers
industry-leading performance over any network and the lowest total cost of
optical ownership. The sixth generation of Infinera's advanced coherent optical
engines and subsystems, the Infinite Capacity Engine (ICE6), is a 1.6 Tb/s
optical engine with two independently programmable wavelengths, each up to 800
Gb/s. ICE6 leverages 7nm CMOS process node DSP and advanced PIC technology to
break performance and spectral efficiency barriers, including 800G single-wavelength
performance over more than 1000 km in one commercial network, with ultra-high
baud rates, high modem SNR, and innovative features. ICE6 exceeds optical
expectations even at lower rates, including 600 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s per
wavelength.
ICE6 enables
network operators to meet the demand for rapid bandwidth growth by delivering
the highest capacity over the longest reach. This results in a solution with
the lowest cost, lowest power per bit and highest possible spectral efficiency.
With instant bandwidth, ICE6 extends the ability of service providers to
quickly add, move or retire transmission capacity when and where it is needed.
Increased
Capacity Reach
Increased
Capacity Reach - State-of-the-art maximum baud rates of 96 Gbaud for ICE6 and
over 100 Gbaud for ICE6 Turbo enable industry-leading wavelength capacity reach
across a wide range of wavelength speeds including 800 Gb/s to over 1000km, 600
Gb/s to over 3000km, 800g to over 7500km, and even longer distances for
submarine networks.
Maximized
Fiber Capacity
Achieve a
spectral efficiency of 8.833 bit/s/Hz and a total C-band capacity of 42.4 Tb/s
over 80 Tb/s over 80 G ... Key features that maximize spectral efficiency over
long distances include minimized roll-off, shared wavelocker, probabilistic
constellation shaping with long codewords (64QAM), dynamic bandwidth
allocation, superchannels, and low overhead Ethernet framing modes.
